China to Adjust Tariffs for Some Commodities from 2023, Higher Tariffs for Aluminium and Alluminium Alloy

China will implement provisional import tax rates for 1,020 commodities (excluding commodities with quotas) from January 1, 2023.

SHANGHAI, Dec 29 (SMM) - China will implement provisional import tax rates for 1,020 commodities (excluding commodities with tariff-rate quotas) from January 1, 2023. Provisional import tax rates for seven coal products will remain in place until March 31, 2023. And from April 1, 2023, the implementation of the most-favored-nation tax rates will be resumed. The provisional import tax rate for one product on ITA expansion product list will be implemented until June 30, 2023, and the most-favored-nation tax rate will be implemented from July 1, 2023, with a tax rate of zero.

In order to promote the transformation, upgrading and high-quality development of related industries, the export tariffs on aluminium and aluminium alloys will be increased.
