Daily Pig Iron Output Declined as More Blast Furnaces Were Overhauled than Restarted

SHANGHAI, Oct 12 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the average operating rate of blast furnaces of steel mills fell 0.45 percentage point from pre-holiday level to 93.61% as of October 12.

SHANGHAI, Oct 12 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the average operating rate of blast furnaces of steel mills fell 0.45 percentage point from pre-holiday level to 93.61% as of October 12.

The average capacity utilisation rate of blast furnaces also fell 0.49 percentage point from pre-holiday level to 94.13%.

The daily average pig iron output of the steel mills in SMM’s survey sample stood at 2.25 million mt this week, a decrease of 11,800 mt from the pre-holiday level. SMM estimates that the daily average pig iron output across the country stood at 2.68 million mt, down 14,100 mt from the pre-holiday figure.
