SHANGHAI, Oct 9 (SMM) - A few days ago, Chongqing Municipal People's Government issued the Plan for Promoting the Infrastructure Construction and Service of Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles in Chongqing (2022-2025), which mentioned that by 2025, Chongqing will build more than 240,000 charging piles.
The Plan said that by 2025, the coverage rate of charging piles in new residential areas will reach 100%, and the qualified public parking spaces in the central urban area will be fully covered by charging piles. What’s more, the expressway service area will also be fully covered by charging piles,
among them, the coverage rate of super charging piles will exceed 20%. Hydrogen refuelling stations will meet the needs of vehicle operation, and comprehensive energy stations for charging, replacing and storing will be widely promoted. At the same time, more than 1,000 kilometres of vehicle-road synergy roads will be constructed, more than 1,200 new intelligent network-connected road testing facilities will add, and the construction of over 500 kilometres of smart expressways will be launched.
According to public information, there are 270 charging facilities construction enterprises in Chongqing, and a total of 2407 charging stations, 80 battery swap stations and 88,000 charging piles have been built, ranking relatively high among provinces and cities in China. The coverage rate of the expressway fast charging network in Chongqing has reached 90%, and the demonstration road between Chengdu and Chongqing has been opened. A new energy vehicle and charging infrastructure monitoring platform and a new digital traffic Internet of Things big data service platform have been constructed.
The next tasks for Chongqing City include accelerating the planning and layout of the charging and swapping network, and the construction of charging and swapping infrastructure projects. The Plan also mentions that it is necessary to make up for the shortcomings in the construction of charging and swapping infrastructure in districts, counties, and towns (streets), and achieve full coverage of charging and swapping stations in districts and counties as well as the full coverage of charging piles in expressway service areas and towns (streets).
