SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) - The aluminium ingot social inventories across China’s eight major markets totalled 652,000 mt as of September 26, down 14,000 mt from last Thursday and 166,000 mt from a year ago. The figure was also 26,000 mt less than that at the end of August. The inventory is now at a new low of this year. Wuxi, Nanhai and Gongyi contributed 90% of the inventory decline. The weekly shipments out of warehouses in Wuxi added 14,000 mt last week amid downstream stocking for the National Day holiday, while arrivals from Xinjiang declined, allowing the local inventory to drop sharply.  Inventory in Foshan fell 6,000 mt on a weekly basis as shipments out of warehouses rose more than 10,000 mt. The inventory in Gongyi area was also in a downward trend as the weekly shipments out of warehouses increased by 12,000 mt. Trades in Gongyi may rise further as downstream buyers begin to stockpile ahead of the National Day holiday. With downstream buyers stocking up for the upcoming National Day holiday, it is expected that the total inventory will extend downward trend this week.
