SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) - Some silicon metal enterprises in Yunnan Province are required to reduce their power load in accordance with the energy efficiency management in energy-intensive industries. According to SMM data, a total of 147 silicon metal furnaces have been built in Yunnan, of which 18 RKEFs will be subject to power rationing, including 4 in Baoshan, 8 in Dehong prefecture, 4 in Nujiang, and 2 in Lincang. The power rationing drop will be implemented from 24:00 on September 25. The furnaces in Dehong prefecture will be shut down in turns to ensure that eight silicon furnaces are shut down every day. SMM estimates that this will cause a monthly loss of 14,000 mt of silicon metal output.
