Global Iron Ore Shipments Fell 17.5% Week-on-Week to 26.26 Million mt during September 5-11

SHANGHAI, Sep 13 (SMM) - SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totalled 26.26 million mt in the week ending September 11, a drop of 17.5% week-on-week.

SHANGHAI, Sep 13 (SMM) - SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totalled 26.26 million mt in the week ending September 11, a drop of 17.5% week-on-week.

The shipments from Australia fell 11.2% on a weekly basis to 14.94 million mt, of which 11.95 million mt or 80% went to China, a decrease of 18.4%.

The shipments from Brazil fell 36.4% on a weekly basis to 5.72 million mt, of which 3.17 million mt or 55.5% went to China, an increase of 22.9%.

The four major mining companies shipped a combined 19.33 million mt of iron ore last week, a drop of 4.24 million mt from a week earlier.


A total of 15.74 million mt of iron ore arrived at Chinese ports last week, down 40.5% week-on-week.
