SHANGHAI, Sep 5 (SMM) - TCs for zinc concentrates in various domestic regions added 100-200 yuan/mt in metal content last week. The main reason for the increase was the relatively low output of domestic refined zinc in August. Some smelters had lower-than-expected output for problems like equipment defaults. Therefore, with concentrated arrivals of imported ore, the raw material inventory in smelters returned to the safe level. In addition, the domestic demand for sulphuric acid collapsed in August, leading to a steep fall in sulphuric acid prices and lower profits for smelters. Under this background, TCs for domestic zinc concentrates rose on the week.
