SHANGHAI, Aug 29 (SMM) - The supply of domestic battery scrap was still tight. The market prices of batter scrap did not drop amid the decline of SHFE lead prices. In this scenario, most secondary refined lead smelters did not adjust the purchase prices of battery scrap last week either and the production cost remained stable. However, the weekly average price of secondary refined lead rose slightly by 35 yuan/mt compared with a week ago. Meanwhile, the recent shipments were relatively stable. The losses stood at 200 yuan/mt last week. According to a smelter in Henan, due to the continuous losses, the smelter was less willing to ship, hence the in-plant inventory of secondary refined lead increased slightly.
