China HRC Stocks Down 136,000 mt on Week

The total inventory of HRC across social warehouses and steel makers in China stood at 3.59 million mt as of August 25, down 136,000 mt or 3.65% on the week, a decrease of 9.61% on the year.

SHANGHAI, Aug 25 (SMM) – The total inventory of HRC across social warehouses and steel makers in China stood at 3.59 million mt as of August 25, down 136,000 mt or 3.65% on the week, a decrease of 9.61% on the year.

The inventory across social warehouses was 2.56 million mt, down 154,600 mt or 5.69% from the previous week, a drop of 15.08% on the year.

The in-plant inventory of steel makers totalled 1.03 million mt, up 18,600 mt or 1.84% on the week, and an increase of 7.63% on the year.

[SMM Daily Hot-Rolled Coil Trading] On March 18, the total daily trading volume of hot-rolled coil among SMM sample enterprises in four cities (Shanghai, Lecong, Tianjin, and Ningbo) was 14,430 mt, down 640 mt day on day, or 4.2%, with up 14.43% YoY on a calendar basis and down 26.56% YoY on a lunar calendar basis.
