SHANGHAI, Aug 17 (SMM) -A large silicone factory in Shihezi, Xinjiang was shut down last night due to the pandemic, and the restart time has not yet been determined.

Affected by the power rationing policy in Sichuan and other provinces, the prices of #421 silicon metal have risen sharply.

The price of DMC, which is raw material of uses #421 silicon metal, has returned to 20,000 yuan/mt. However, due to the poor downstream demand, this price increase will not last for a long time. The price will fall back to around the cost after power rationing policy is loosened.
