SHANGHAI, Aug 8 (SMM) – On August 5, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the Operations of Copper Industry in the First Half of 2022, and the relevant information is as follows:
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of the year, the output of copper cathode was 5.33 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%; the output of copper semis was 10.23 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
According to data from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the average spot price of copper was 71,750 yuan/mt in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
According to the data of the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of the year, the import of copper concentrate was 12.48 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%, and the import value was $31.35 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%; the import of unwrought copper and copper semis was 2.94 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, and the import value was $29.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.1%.
