SMM Exclusive: 23 Blast Furnaces Resumed Production since Jul 21

A number of steel mills have been preparing for production resumption in light of restoring profits. Hence more resumption can be expected in the near future.

SHANGHAI, Aug 3 (SMM) – A total of 23 blast furnaces resumed the production during the period from July 21 to August 1, involving a daily pig iron production of 97,800 mt. As of August 1, there were still 78 blast furnaces under maintenance, reducing the pig iron production by 283,300 mt/day.

A number of steel mills have been preparing for production resumption in light of restoring profits. Hence more resumption can be expected in the near future.
