Pure Nickel Spot Trading was Slack, and the Premiums Fell Slightly

On July 25, spot premiums of Jinchuan nickel were 13,500-14,200 yuan/mt, with the average price standing at 13,850 /mt, down 900 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

SHANGHAI, Jul 25 (SMM) - On July 25, spot premiums of Jinchuan nickel were 13,500-14,200 yuan/mt, with the average price standing at 13,850 /mt, down 900 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Premiums of NORNICKEL nickel stood at 11,500-12,000 yuan/mt. The average price was 11,750 yuan/mt, a decrease of 1,000 /mt from the previous trading day. Due to the arrival of some pure nickel spots, the premiums fell. The prices of nickel briquettes were 174,800-175,800 yuan/mt, up 2,800 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. The nickel briquettes trading was slack as the futures prices rose and the cost efficiency of nickel briquettes was lower. Besides, at present, the mainstream raw material of alloy is still nickel plate, further leading to the poor nickel briquettes trading.

The US Department of Commerce has postponed the preliminary determination in its countervailing duty (CVD) investigation into welded stainless steel line and pressure pipe from India and Turkey, extending the deadline from October 8 to December 14, 2026, effective September 21.
