SHANGHAI, Jul 22 (SMM) - Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that China’s refined zinc output was 549,000 mt in June, down 4.2% year-on-year. The domestic refined zinc production in June was lower than expected mainly due to unexpected output reductions.
According to SMM survey, some zinc smelters resumed production in July, but their output still did not return to normal levels, while some other smelters were overhauled this month. Thus, the total output in July may still fall.
