SHANGHAI, July 22 (SMM) -

Sustainability and low-carbonization are the development trend of materials

More than 140 countries and regions around the world have proposed carbon neutrality goals, and most of them plan to achieve them by 2050. China has proposed the goal of achieving carbon peaking in 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality in 2060, which is a major strategic decision made after careful consideration. In this case, low carbonization is the general trend of sustainable development.

In terms of car companies, driven by the carbon neutrality goal, major car companies and auto parts companies have formulated carbon neutrality timetables.

Low-carbonization measures at the raw material supply side

On the raw material supply side, how to reduce carbon emissions is the primary issue that companies need to consider. Important measures that are currently feasible includes applying low-carbon materials, improving the efficiency of material utilisation, reducing the use of materials, reducing carbon emissions during processing and transportation, and increasing the use of recycled materials.

At present, the representative aluminium companies around the world pay more attention to low-carbonization in the supply of primary aluminium, and have relevant representative products, making efforts to achieve low-carbonization and sustainable development.

In addition, in terms of product design, product cost generally increases with the complexity of materials, so the recycling of resources is a key factor in reducing material costs in the future. At present, the availability of recyclable materials in the market is increasing.

Fed to Keep Large Banks' Capital Levels Unchanged, Postpones Stress Test Reforms Until 2027
The US Fed has announced that it will maintain the capital levels of large banks unchanged during the upcoming stress test cycle (corresponding to the 2026 cycle). At the same time, the US Fed is planning multidimensional reforms to this annual test, aiming to enhance its transparency. The US Fed's Vice Chair for Supervision, Bowman, revealed that adjustments to the stress capital buffer requirements for large banks will be postponed until 2027. This move is intended to provide the US Fed with sufficient time to evaluate potential flaws that may be exposed in its testing models when assessing banks' financial conditions under simulated economic downturn scenarios.
