SHANGHAI, Jul 4 (SMM) – The Elec reported on June 29 that Samsung SDI, a subsidiary of Samsung Group, is planning to build a 4680 battery production line for Tesla. The relevant tests will be completed by the end of this year and the production line will enter the mass production stage as soon as 2023. The pilot line is located in Samsung SDI's Cheonan factory in South Korea, and the annual production capacity of the production line is slightly less than 1GWh. The actual mass production line will be built at Samsung SDI's battery factory in Seremban, Malaysia.
