CATL Unveils CTP3.0 "Qilin" Battery, Which Holds 13% More Power than 4680 Battery

SHANGHAI, Jun 23 (SMM) - CATL published an article on its official Weibo on June 23, saying that its newly unveiled CTP3.0 “Qilin” battery set a record high in the globe in terms of its system integration, features a volume utilisation rate of more than 72%, and energy density of 255Wh/kg, allowing cars to travel 1,000 km on a single charge.

SHANGHAI, Jun 23 (SMM) - CATL published an article on its official Weibo on June 23, saying that its newly unveiled CTP3.0 "Qilin" battery set a record high in the globe in terms of its system integration efficiency, features a volume utilisation efficiency of more than 72%, and energy density of 255Wh/kg, allowing cars to travel 1,000 km on a single charge. Due to the world's first large-surface cooling technology for battery cells, CTP3.0 "Qilin" battery is able to support 5-minute fast hot start and 10-minute fast charge. Under the same chemistry system and the same battery pack size, the "Qilin" battery holds 13% more power than 4680 battery, and achieves a significant boost as regards driving range, fast charging, safety, battery life, efficiency, and low-temperature performance. The "Qilin" batteries will be mass-produced and available for sale in 2023.
