Although the growth rate has slowed, it has surpassed the previous year for the fourth consecutive year. The global semiconductor market in 2022 is expected to be $646.4 billion, up $45 billion from the previous expectation. The fixed value in 2021 is $555.8 billion, a 26% increase over 2020.
WSTS expects that in 2022, both the growth rate of PLD and memory used for computing, which have supported the previous rapid growth, will slow down. Both PLD and memory rose 31% in 2021 from the previous year, while PLD will grow 7% year-on-year in 2023 and memory will grow 3% year-on-year.
