Compared to April 2021, sales increased in the Americas (40.9%), Europe (19.2%), Japan (18.5%), Asia Pacific/all other regions (18.1%) and China (13.3%). Compared to March 2022, sales increased month-on-month in the Americas (3.1%), Japan (1.6%) and Asia Pacific/all other regions (1.2%), but slightly fell in China (-0.6%) and Europe (-3.3%).

John Neuffer, President and CEO of SIA, said: "Global semiconductor sales have increased by more than 20% year on year for the 13th consecutive month, demonstrating high and growing demand for semiconductors across a range of key industries." "The high demand for chips worldwide will require more semiconductor research, design, and manufacturing in the coming years, and we urge U.S. leaders to enact innovation and competitiveness legislation to ensure that more of this chip production and innovation emerges across the country.
