Alumina Prices in Shanxi Extended Decline

SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) - Alumina prices in Shanxi lost another 15 yuan/mt today to 2,860-2,950 yuan/mt today, sending the SMM weighted alumina index down by 6 yuan/mt to 2,989 yuan/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) - Alumina prices in Shanxi lost another 15 yuan/mt today to 2,860-2,950 yuan/mt today, sending the SMM weighted alumina index down by 6 yuan/mt to 2,989 yuan/mt. Prices in other regions were little changed. Leye County, Guangxi Province suffered the biggest flood in nearly 40 years, but local alumina supply has not been affected. Alumina prices in south-west China remained firm, supported by growing demand from local aluminium smelters resuming production.
