Lithium Fluorophosphate Prices Fell below 300,000 yuan/mt, Lithium Metal Prices Dropped to 3 Million yuan/mt

SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) - According to SMM spot prices, the prices of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide remained stable last week.

SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) - According to SMM spot prices, the prices of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide remained stable last week. The prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate remained stable at 450,000-473,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 461,500 yuan/mt; the spot prices of lithium hydroxide remained stable at 460,000-475,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 467,500 yuan/mt. In terms of lithium metal, the decline in spot price of lithium metal narrowed last week. From May 16 to May 20, the spot price of metal lithium dropped by 20,000 yuan/mt, and the average price fell to 3.005 million yuan/mt, down 0.67%.

The spot price of spodumene concentrate (6%, CIF China) stabilised last week after the previous rapid rise, and stood at $4,680-4,830/mt, with the average price at $4,755/mt.

The spot price of lithium hexafluorophosphate, which soared last year, has been falling all the way down since March 9. The average price fell below 300,000 yuan/mt. As of May 20, the spot price of lithium hexafluorophosphate fell to 285,000-306,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 295,500 yuan/mt.

Regarding the price trend in the future, SMM believes that lithium hexafluorophosphate prices will continue to fall due to plentiful supply of raw materials and weak demand.
