China Lithium Carbonate Imports in Apr Dropped 48% MoM

China's lithium carbonate imports in April 2022 were 5,763 mt, down 48% MoM and 36% YoY.

SHANGHAI, May 20 - China's lithium carbonate imports in April 2022 were 5,763 mt, down 48% MoM and 36% YoY. China's lithium carbonate exports in April were 817 mt, down a modest 1% MoM and up 64% YoY. China's lithium carbonate supply in April recorded a modest surplus of 1,564 mt, which narrowed from March. Among it, the domestic supply was 26,676 mt and the demand totalled 30,058 mt without considering exports and imports.

China's lithium hydroxide imports in April 2022 were 455 mt, down 2% MoM and up 60% YoY. China's lithium hydroxide exports in April stood at 5,711 mt, down 1% MoM and flat YoY. Lithium hydroxide supply surplus in China in April were 952 mt, with domestic supply and demand standing at 18,520 mt and demand totalling 12,313 mt respectively.
