LME Tin Inventory Hit Five-Month High, While SHFE Tin Inventory Touched Four-Month Low

Zinc ingot inventories across seven major Chinese markets totalled 103,700 mt as of May 26, down 10,300 mt from May 22 and 13,200 mt from May 19.

As of May 12, bonded zone inventory of nickel stood flat WoW at 4,300 mt.

As of May 1, prices of standard #553 silicon metal were 14,500-14,800 yuan/mt in east China, down 400 yuan/mt or 3% from a week earlier, prices of above-standard #553 silicon metal stood at 14,700-15,000 yuan/mt, down 500 yuan/mt or 3%, prices of #441 silicon metal were 15,400-15,800 yuan/mt, down 500 yuan/mt or 3%, and those of #421 silicon metal were 16,300-16,500 yuan/mt, a drop of 200 yuan/mt or 1%.

The data released on the website of the London Metal Exchange (LME) on Wednesday showed that in LME registered warehouses, the share of Russian aluminium stocks fell slightly, from 53% in March to 52% (256,125 mt) in April.

The outbound volume of the aluminium billet dropped by 6,800 mt to 38,300 mt last week, a decrease of 15%.

SMM data showed that HRC stocks across social warehouses and steel makers rose 118,200 mt or 3.27% on the week, but down 4.26% than a year ago, to 3.73 million mt in the week ended June 17.

SMM data showed that China’s social inventories of aluminium across eight consumption areas fell 35,000 mt on the week.

China HRC stocks across social warehouses and steel makers declined 77,400 mt or 2.18% from the previous week to 3.48 million mt in the week ended May 13. This was 27.05% lower compared with the same period last year.

China produced 12,480 mt of lithium carbonate in January, down 15.1% on the month, but up 21.3% on the year.

According to SMM, the nickel ore inventory in all ports of China is 9.64 million wet tons (79,100 MT) by Friday.
