SHANGHAI, May 6 (SMM) - The total installed capacity of BYD's new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in April was about 6.242GWh, and amounted to 20.98GWh in the first four months of the year.

SHANGHAI, May 6 (SMM) - The total installed capacity of BYD's new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in April was about 6.242GWh, and amounted to 20.98GWh in the first four months of the year.
BYD’s NEV sales totalled 106,042 units in April, a year-on-year increase of 313.2%. Among them, sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 105,475 units, a year-on-year increase of 321.3%. Its sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 390,212 units from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 397.63%.

Affected by the pandemic in many parts of the country in April, auto makers and auto parts suppliers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jilin and other regions were closed for many days.

However, BYD was less affected by the pandemic thanks to its self-developed and produced blade batteries and a relatively more complete supply chain system. BYD has built factories in Shenzhen, Xi'an, Changsha and other regions, which were less affected by the pandemic, and this is also an important reason for its strong production and sales.
