SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) - The shipments of raw materials and finished products for alumina refineries are still affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. In response to the sharp decline in truck transport capacity, many alumina refineries are seeking railway transportation as an alternative, putting lots of pressure on transport by train. The supply-demand mismatch in north China has intensified. Aluminium smelters in north-west China became more willing to stock up and turned to suppliers in Henan due to pandemic controls in Shanxi, pushing alumina prices in Henan up by 10 yuan/mt today when compared to last Friday.
