Barrick Gold’s Copper Output in Q1 2022 Increased by 8.5% YoY to 46,000 mt

Barrick Gold official website reported that the copper output in the first quarter of 2022 was 46,000 mt, up 8.53% year-on-year and down 19.2% month-on-month mainly due to the reduction of TCs of Lumwana copper ore.

SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) - Barrick Gold official website reported that the copper output in the first quarter of 2022 was 46,000 mt, up 8.53% year-on-year and down 19.2% month-on-month mainly due to the reduction of TCs of Lumwana copper ore.

Lumwana (100%): In the first quarter of 2022, the output was 26,000 mt, up 11.7% year-on-year and down 26.3% month-on-month. With the steady increase of TCs of Lumwana, the output in the second quarter will be higher than that in the first quarter.

Zaldívar (50%): In the first quarter of 2022, the output was 11,000 mt, up 3.7% year-on-year and down 7.4% month-on-month.

Jabal Sayid (50%): In the first quarter of 2022, the output was 9,000 mt, a year-on-year increase of 4.9% but a month-on-month decrease of 9.5%.
