Recently, BYD has signed two major projects.

On the afternoon of March 31, BYD Power Battery Yancheng Base Phase II project "Cloud signing" was successfully held in Yancheng Hotel.

According to the "notice after approval of Construction Engineering Design of Yancheng Fudi Battery Co., Ltd." announced by Sheyang County Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, BYD Yancheng project is mainly responsible for the manufacture and R & D of core products such as new energy batteries and related supporting industries, and the project is divided into two phases, one of which produces 15GWh power batteries annually, with a total investment of 7.5 billion yuan, and plans to be completed and put into production in May 2022; the second phase will build 15GWh according to market demand.

On April 1, BYD signed an investment cooperation agreement with the people's Government of Guiyang City. According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the new power battery industry project and PACK factory production line.

It is reported that the annual production capacity 10GWh blade battery project, which BYD invested 5 billion to build in Guiyang, has been put into production in 2021, and the two sides signed the contract again, which means that BYD may further expand the Guizhou battery project.

In 2022, the expansion of BYD's battery capacity has further accelerated. In January, BYD Xiangyang Base (30GWh) landed, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan in the first phase, and the total investment in the third phase is expected to exceed 18 billion yuan; in February, the construction of Changchun Base (45GWh) was officially completed; in March, the construction of Huangpi Base in Wuhan began, with a project investment of 10 billion yuan.

In 2021, BYD also expanded eight production bases, including Jinan in Shandong, Wuwei in Anhui, Yancheng in Jiangsu, Wuhan in Hubei, Shengzhou in Shaoxing, Ningbo in Zhejiang, Chuzhou in Anhui and Fuzhou in Jiangxi, with a total new production capacity of 205GWh.

At present, BYD has built bases in Xining, Qinghai (24GWh), Huizhou (2GWh), Shenzhen Pingshan (14GWh), Chongqing Bishan (45GWh), Xi'an High-tech (50GWh), Changsha Ningxiang (20GWh), Guizhou Guiyang (20GWh) and Anhui Bengbu (20GWh).

From January to February this year, BYD shipped 6.4GWh global power batteries, surpassing Panasonic and ranking third with a market share of 11.9%.

As for battery customers, it has recently been reported that Fudi Battery, BYD's power battery business, is actively opening up the market in the new car camp, including Lailai and Xiaomi cars. Among them, "the fixed-point cooperation between Weilai and Fudi battery has been finalized before the Spring Festival, using BYD's lithium iron phosphate battery."

In terms of car sales, BYD sold 594000 new energy passenger vehicles in 2021, an increase of 232%, and the market share of new energy vehicles reached 17.1%. From January to February this year, BYD's cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 181500, an increase of 494.28% over the same period last year.
