According to estimates, if produced by spodumene concentrate at the costs of $5,000/mt, the costs of battery-grade lithium carbonate can be 312,000 yuan/mt. Converted at a spot price of 500,000 yuan/mt for battery-grade lithium carbonate, the costs account for approximately 62.4%. SMM will continue to track the subsequent news.

During Q1 2022, prices of lithium carbonate were all the way up and the tight supply of raw material became a concern. The drive from the demand side will be the critical support for the upward movement of spodumene prices in the future.
