[international Aluminum Association: primary aluminum demand is expected to grow by 40 per cent by 2030] A report released this week by the International Aluminum Association predicts that aluminum demand will grow by 40 per cent by the end of the century. According to calculations, the global aluminum industry needs to increase its overall primary aluminum production by 33.3 million tons a year to keep up with the requirements. The report, entitled "opportunities for Aluminum in the Post-epidemic economy", said the largest increase in demand is expected in the transport, construction, packaging and electrical sectors. According to the report, these four industries could account for 75 per cent of the growth in aluminium demand this decade. China is expected to account for 2% of future demand, with an estimated annual demand of 12.3 million tons.

A report released this week by the International Aluminum Association predicts that aluminum demand will grow by 40 per cent by the end of the century, and it is calculated that the global aluminum industry will need to increase its overall primary aluminum production by 33.3 million tons a year to meet the requirements.

The rest of Asia is expected to need 8.6 million tonnes of primary aluminium a year, while North America and Europe are expected to need 5.1 million tonnes and 4.8 million tonnes respectively.

"as we seek a sustainable future in a decarbonized world, aluminum has the qualities that consumers seek-strength, light weight, versatility, corrosion resistance, good conductors for heat and electricity, and recyclability," Prosser concluded. "of the nearly 1.5 billion tonnes of aluminium produced in the past, about 75 per cent is still used in production. This metal has been at the forefront of many industrial and engineering innovations in the 20th century and continues to power the future of sustainable development.
