SHANGHAI, Mar 28 (SMM) – According to the latest customs data, China exported a total of 30,700 mt of unwrought non-alloy aluminium in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 1,833%.

SHANGHAI, Mar 28 (SMM) – According to the latest customs data, China exported a total of 30,700 mt of unwrought non-alloy aluminium in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 1,833%. The exports were concentrated in February when the monthly export volume stood at 26,400 mt, a year-on-year increase of 2,361%.

Unwrought non-alloy aluminium exported in the first two months included:

1. Refined aluminium and high-purity aluminium (unwrought non-alloy aluminium with an aluminium content of ≥99.95%, HS code 76011010), whose export volume was 1,700 mt, all of which was exported under general trade;

2. Ordinary aluminium ingots (unwrought non-alloy aluminium with aluminium content < 99.95%, HS code 76011090), whose export volume was 29,000 mt, of which 28,900 mt was exported as from bonded warehouses and exported to 5 countries including Montenegro, Italy, South Korea, Nigeria and Tanzania.

China restricts the export of ordinary aluminium ingots, and the tentative export tax rate is 15%; the export of refined aluminium and high-purity aluminium is not restricted, and the tentative export tax rate is 0%.

The trade model showed that the ordinary aluminium ingots exported in the first two months were not domestic aluminium ingots, but rather overseas-produced aluminium ingots that were previously imported from abroad and kept in bonded warehouses.

Since the beginning of this year, although overseas aluminium prices have gained more than domestic prices. Based on the SHFE/LME aluminium price ratio and exchange rates and under the restriction of 15% export tariff, the aluminium export window has not opened.

Judging from the current inventory in the bonded warehouses, the export volume of unwrought non-alloy aluminium may increase significantly in March.

EU Industry Chief Proposes Broad Ban on Waste Exports to Non-OECD Countries
The EU's industry chief Stephane Sejourne has decided to propose a broad ban on exports of waste, includingaluminium scrap, to non-OECD countries, a statement from Sejourne's cabinet said on Friday.Sejourne had been expected to present long-awaited trade measures on September 23, which would have only limited exports of aluminiumscrap."In the internal discussions, it appeared that the tool proposed could only cover around a half of the scrap export. As a result, the Executive Vice-President has decided to withdraw the proposal and to explore a proposal, independent from trade instruments," the statement said."We are now working on a delegated act under the Waste Shipment Regulation. This delegated act will ban exports of waste, including aluminiumscrap to non-O

Guizhou Aluminum Plant's Diesel Anode Transport Vehicle Passes Inspection, Ships to Kazakhstan
The diesel anode transport vehicle independently developed by Guizhou Aluminum Plant has successfully passed factory inspection and been officially loaded for shipment to Kazakhstan. The anode transport vehicle is a core specialized equipment for aluminum electrolysis production, facing harsh operating conditions over the long term such as high temperatures, dust, strong magnetic fields, and heavy loads, with high barriers to R&D and manufacturing. The vehicles in this shipment have undergone targeted technical upgrades based on Guizhou Aluminum Plant's proven export car model Huaguang HG-5, addressing practical challenges in Kazakhstan such as extreme winter cold, long transfer distances, and strong magnetic field interference in workshops, achieving a dual leap in product adaptability and operational reliability. The vehicle is powered by a diesel engine with ample torque, capable of handling heavy loads, climbing slopes, and frequent start-stop operations with ease; it is also fully adapted to actual working conditions with large temperature differences and heavy dust, highly matching the production conditions of the Kazakhstan project.
