The new coal shed structure adopts double-span prestressed pipe truss + single-span prestressed pipe truss, all of which uses about 2800 tons of steel. The maximum weight of the main pipe truss is about 80 tons, and the maximum cantilever is 145m. Due to the large amount of steel and new technology, especially more high-altitude operations, more lifting operations, more cross operations and more special operations, it has brought great challenges to engineering construction and safety management.

In order to solve these problems, Qingaluminum power generation and construction side repeatedly studied, decided to adopt a number of welding hoisting schemes. In the working area of 50,000 square meters, more than 140 builders, facing the test of high temperature and extreme heat, accurately operated 6 working car cranes and 2 large crawler cranes to carry out equipment installation. "A number of welding hoisting reduces the work load of high-altitude welding by 80%, minimizes safety risks such as falling from high altitude, and effectively ensures the progress of the project." Dong Weidong, director of Qingaluminum Power production Technology Department, introduced it.

With the close cooperation of the construction unit, the general contractor unit and the supervision unit, the project began the hoisting operation of steel structure columns on April 25, 2021, and the last span of the main truss of the coal shed with a span of 145 meters was safely and smoothly closed on July 22, indicating that the Qinghai Aluminum Power Plant fully closed environmental protection upgrading project has achieved important results through fine management. On November 17, the main structure of the coal yard was closed. At present, the laying and installation of underground pipe networks, monitoring and fire-fighting facilities are under way, and the construction is expected to be completed by the end of May this year.

"in the past, when coal was used to be stored in the open air, there was a lot of pollution, especially when it was windy, there was dust everywhere and nothing could be seen. It is common to work against the wind, rain and snow. Now the working environment has changed a lot. We no longer have to work in the wind, sun, rain and snow, and at the same time reduce the loss of burning coal. " Yang Shangjun, who has worked as a monitor of coal transportation operation in coal yard for 10 years, is most impressed by the changes before and after the transformation.

After the completion of the upgrading and transformation of the coal yard, 180000 tons of coal can be stored, which thoroughly solves the "pain point" of polluting the ecological environment and wasting resources in the process of coal-fired storage of green aluminum power generation. When he saw that the major construction projects of the project had been completed and the ecological and environmental benefits were obvious, Dong Weidong, director of the Qinghai Aluminum Power Generation Technology Department, was particularly excited.
