SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - Recently, Nexans, the French cable giant, has signed contracts with Ørsted and Eversource, the Danish renewable energy companies, to install and protect the output cables for the Revolution wind farm in the US. The project aims to connect the wind farm with the onshore power grid and help Connecticut and Rhode Island to realise the sustained commitment to developing offshore wind power.

As part of the Ørsted-Eversource framework agreement, this will be Nexans’ first cable installation project in the US. Nexans and the North American subsidiary of Danish renewable energy company Ørsted signed an output cable framework agreement in December 2019, which will supply 1,000 kilometres of high-voltage submarine cables in the US by 2027, aiming at providing industry-leading submarine cable technology to the US by Nexans.
