On March 4, the Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission released data, saying that according to energy price monitoring data reported by various league cities, the price of thermal coal, thermal coal and natural gas rose in February, while the price of coke fell slightly and the price of oil products rose.

First, coal

(1) Power coal

In February, driven by low temperature weather and non-electricity demand, the price of thermal coal in our region rose slightly. The average monthly price of thermal coal in the region is 421.18 yuan / ton, up 6.80% compared with January (hereinafter referred to as month-on-month) and 47.35% compared with February 2021 (hereinafter referred to as year-on-year). Among them, the average pit mouth price of lignite in the east was 361.71 yuan / ton, up 1.2% from the previous month and 39.72% from the same period last year, while the average pit mouth price of thermal coal in Ordos region was 600.00 yuan / ton, up 16.32% from the previous month and 65.95% from the same period last year.

In terms of calorific value, the average prices of thermal coal at the pit mouth of 3800, 4500, 5000 and 5500 were 411.11 yuan, 465.33 yuan, 605.00 yuan and 700.00 yuan per ton, respectively, up 1.44%, 12.76%, 15.90% and 16.23% respectively over the same period last year, up 42.49%, 46.72%, 65.75% and 64.71% respectively over the same period last year.

(2) Power coal

The average purchase price of thermal coal converted to standard coal in the western region was 559.33 yuan / ton, up 13.46% from the previous month and 57.12% over the same period last year, while the average purchase price of thermal coal in the eastern region was 388.67 yuan / ton, up 12.33% from the previous month and 15.45% from the same period last year.

In March, as the temperature continues to rise, the demand for coal for heating will fall, and coal production will remain high, the supply and demand situation will continue to improve, and prices are expected to fall steadily.

Second, coke

In February, under the influence of holidays, environmental protection and other factors, coke prices first fell and then rose. The average monthly price of coke in the region was 2478.50 yuan / ton, down 2.50 percent from the previous month and up 24.80 percent from the same period last year.

In March, with the increase in the output of downstream steel mills, coke demand will continue to improve, but affected by the epidemic, the import volume of coking coal is uncertain, and the tight supply and demand of coking coal market will push up the cost of coke. Taken together, the price of coke will rise in March.

Third, natural gas

In February, natural gas prices rose continuously and rapidly due to the combined effects of low temperature, replenishment of urban fuel, and tight supply after the Spring Festival. The average monthly ex-factory price of domestic LNG, the average outgoing price of imported LNG and the average retail price of LNG are 5836.28 yuan, 5587.50 yuan and 5913.67 yuan per ton respectively, up 10.89%, 16.41% and 11.61% respectively over the same period last year, and down 27.63%, 37.96% and 17.49% respectively over the same period last year.

In February, the average retail price of CNG was 3.86 yuan per cubic meter, up 1.32% from the previous month and 7.86% from a year earlier.

In March, as temperatures pick up and demand for urban combustion decreases, natural gas prices will enter the seasonal decline channel.

Fourth, refined oil

On February 18, the wholesale prices of 92 # gasoline, 95 # gasoline, 0 # diesel and-35 diesel were raised to 10006 yuan, 10573 yuan, 8400 yuan and 9660 yuan per ton respectively, up 2.27% and 2.44% respectively compared with the previous year. Gasoline and diesel prices rose 23.80% and 26.22% respectively over the same period last year.

Australia Reviews Anti-Dumping Duties on Galvanized Steel from India, Malaysia, Vietnam Amid Zinc Concerns
On September 9, 2026, Australia initiated its second sunset review of anti-dumping measures on galvanized steel sheet from India, Malaysia and Vietnam, and separately launched a sunset review of countervailing measures on imports from India. The review covers July 2025-June 2026, with the final report expected by February 11, 2027. As galvanized steel is the largest end-use sector for zinc, the measures directly affect export costs and competitiveness, potentially impacting Australia’s domestic zinc demand and supply chain. Maintaining the duties would provide some protection for domestic steel and coating capacity, while termination could increase low-priced imports and affect regional zinc consumption. The final outcome remains subject to the authorities’ determination.
