[Silicon-carbon negative electrode has become the most promising next-generation lithium material Tesla, Ningde era has been added one after another] since 2021, Tesla, Ningde era and other enterprises have begun to mass produce power battery products that use silicon-carbon negative electrode, and some negative electrode enterprises have also begun to invest in the construction of silicon-carbon negative electrode production line.

Silicon-carbon anode has the advantages of high energy density and suitable Discharge platform, so it is one of the potential next generation anode materials. In the past few years, due to the high price of products and the immature supporting industry chain, the progress of silicon-carbon anode industrialization is not as expected. However, since 2021, Tesla, Ningde era and other enterprises have begun to mass produce power battery products using silicon-carbon negative electrode, and some negative electrode enterprises have also begun to invest in the construction of silicon-carbon negative electrode production line.

Negative electrode as an important part of lithium-ion battery, the use of high-capacity anode materials can effectively improve the energy density of the whole battery. After decades of development, the actual specific capacity of the most commonly used graphite materials has reached 360-365mAhmax g, which is very close to the theoretical specific capacity (372mAh/g). Continuing to improve the performance of graphite negative electrode is very limited to improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries. Silicon-based negative electrode has the advantages of high energy density, wide distribution of raw materials and suitable Discharge platform, so it is considered to be a promising next-generation lithium-ion battery anode material.

Sibao Science and Technology completed a 50-ton / year silicon-carbon negative electrode pilot production line in 2019, and the products have been evaluated by several battery manufacturers and supplied in small batches. it is planned to build 10,000 tons / year silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium batteries in 2021.

Xiang Fenghua said that the developed silicon-carbon anode material products are in the pilot stage and have the conditions for industrialization.
