Tesmanian, a website focused on Tesla and SpaceX, reported that demand for Model 3 was staggering in Europe, with several models reaching record delivery times.
According to the Tesla official website, the delivery date of the (RWD), the basic Model 3 model with 18-inch power wheels, is now shown as "no earlier than November 2022". This means that if residents in Europe place an order for the model now, they will have to wait at least nine months, and the popularity in Europe is self-evident.
If European consumers want a rear-wheel drive version of the Model 3 with 19-inch sports wheels, they can advance the delivery date to August, but the price will also be higher than the base model. In addition, if European consumers choose colors other than pearl white (multi-coating), they can also shorten the delivery time by two months.
However, new orders for all high-performance versions of dual-motor all-wheel drive Model 3 in different colors will not be shipped until after May this year. Overall, sales of Tesla's Model 3 in the full range of Europe are very strong, and the only constraint to its faster growth is the company's ability to make cars.
At present, Tesla's factories are only located in California and Shanghai, China, so the cars delivered in Europe come from these two places. The company is still waiting for final approval from the local German government for its Berlin plant to start production, which will not start producing cars until mid-March at the earliest.
In an earnings call for the fourth quarter of 2021 last month, Mr Musk said that both Berlin and Texas factories were waiting for approval from government agencies to start production, and the Texas plant seemed closer to starting production than the Berlin plant.
