According to the industrial and commercial registration, Chongqing Automobile Zhiyu Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. was established on December 9, 2021 with a registered address at 618 Liangjiang Avenue, Longxing Town, Liangjiang New District, Chongqing. The company is 100% controlled by Chongqing ideal.

With regard to the above public information, and the idea that a factory will be built in Chongqing, ideal Automobile officials said that they would "not comment". However, an ideal car insider confirmed the news to the reporter, "it is not yet time to announce it to the public."

Accordingly, the delivery of ideal cars that have just crossed the threshold of 90,000 for the whole of 2021 will have three factories. The first factory of ideal Automobile is located in Wujin District, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, with an annual production capacity of 100000 vehicles. The 90491 ideal ONE, delivered in 2021 are all produced in this plant, and the production capacity has been stretched. The plant is currently building a new workshop, which will reach an annual production capacity of 200000 vehicles when completed.

In 2021, ideal Automobile will take over the first Hyundai Factory in Beijing and transform it into an ideal automobile green intelligent manufacturing base in Beijing. With a total investment of more than 6 billion yuan, it is scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2023 with an annual production capacity of 100000 vehicles and will be put into production of pure electric models.

Ideal plans to launch a full-size luxury smart add-on electric SUV, in 2022 and two other SUV models in 2023. In addition, ideal is also developing platforms Whale and Shark, for its future high-voltage pure electric vehicles and plans to launch at least two high-voltage pure electric models a year from 2023.

Ideal car CEO Li Xiang has disclosed in an internal letter that he wants to achieve the target of 1.6 million vehicles by 2025. At present, the capacity planning of the two plants is still far from meeting the target. Therefore, the construction demand of the third factory is particularly urgent.

Judging from the scale of the land just acquired in Chongqing, its land area of 1.1334 million square meters is enough to make the ideal car "show off its strength". By comparison, the ideal Automobile Changzhou factory covers an area of 750mu (500000 square meters), while the Beijing factory covers an area of 786mu (524000 square meters), which is less than the combined area of the two factories. From this, it can be judged that its design capacity may also be larger than the first two factories combined.

The ideal car has a deep relationship with Chongqing. As an important automobile town in southwest China, Chongqing has a solid foundation of automobile industry cluster. Ideal car chose to settle in Chongqing this time, which can be described as "continuing the previous relationship".

As early as August 2018, the ideal car, whose name was still car and Home at that time, signed a contract with Chongqing Liangjiang New area, planning to invest 11 billion yuan to build a smart car manufacturing base, covering an area of 1800 mu (1.2 million square meters), with a total production capacity of 400000 vehicles per year. The base will be built in two phases, and the first phase of the project is expected to have an annual production capacity of 200000 vehicles within 2021 and put into production at least two smart electric vehicle products.

Although the cooperation between the two sides was shelved for a time, ideal Automobile still realized the production of ideal ONE in Changzhou factory by taking over the production qualification of Chongqing car company Lifan.

According to local media reports on December 5, 2021, ideal Motor signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Chongqing municipal government. Li Xiang said that he would increase investment in Chongqing, continue to deepen strategic cooperation with Chongqing, and expand and strengthen cooperation projects in Chongqing. At the same time, in the 2022 Chongqing Municipal Government work report released on January 17, it was mentioned that it is necessary to "speed up the construction and production of high-end new energy projects such as Changan, Jinkang, Geely, ideal and other high-end new energy projects."

In fact, the ideal car in the pace of capacity expansion is not ahead of the new power of car-building. Xiaopeng, which currently ranks first in delivery, already has three self-built factories in Zhaoqing, Guangzhou and Wuhan, Guangdong, with an annual production capacity of more than 300000 vehicles.

"the leading enterprises of the new forces of car building will certainly expand their production capacity and try to maintain or even increase their market share." Cao he, president of Quanlian Automotive Investment Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd., said, "once sales are restricted by production capacity, there will be the risk of falling behind."
