Tesla had planned to start initial production at the Berlin plant last summer, but the start of production at Tesla's Berlin plant has been significantly delayed due to slow reviews and lawsuits from local environmental groups.
In an earnings call in the third quarter of last year, Zakary Kirkhorn (Zachary Kirkhorn), Tesla's chief financial officer, admitted that neither Berlin nor Texas plants could start production by the end of 2021, although both plants were expected to start operating in early 2022.
