(Emirates Global Aluminium,EGA, a global aluminum company in the United Arab Emirates, said on Wednesday that it plans to build the company's first and largest aluminum recycling plant in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the statement, the recycling plant will be able to process 150000 tons of waste aluminum into low-carbon billets each year, under the brand name "EternAL".

UAE Global Aluminum is the largest aluminum producer in the Middle East and the largest industrial enterprise in the United Arab Emirates after oil and gas.

The aluminum recycling plant will be able to process waste aluminum such as door and window frames into low-carbon and high-quality aluminum billets.

According to a press release issued by the United Arab Emirates Global Aluminum Company, the waste aluminum used to supply aluminum recycling plants will mainly come from regions such as the United Arab Emirates.

The company said it was conducting a feasibility study on the project.

It consumes less energy to produce raw aluminum by recycling waste aluminum, and the greenhouse gas emissions will be significantly reduced in the production process.

The International Aluminium Association ((IAI)) expects recycled aluminum to account for 60% of the global aluminum supply by 2050.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Global Aluminum in the United Arab Emirates, said: "Aluminum end-users such as automakers and beverage manufacturers are increasingly willing to implement the net zero policy. The company's first aluminum recycling project will be part of our plan to provide low-carbon aluminum to customers around the world. "

"the construction of the recycling plant will also strengthen the position of UAE Global Aluminum as the world's leading aluminum producer, and our annual aluminum production capacity will increase from about 1.15 million tons to 1.3 million tons at a time of increased customer demand."

He said the UAE would allow UAE global aluminum companies to make more contributions to "creating more opportunities" and would "allow us to use existing domestic recyclable resources to replace imported raw materials."

Last year, the United Arab Emirates Global Aluminum Company used desert solar power stations to produce aluminum, which was named "CelestiAL".

The International Aluminum Association expects global demand for aluminium to grow by 50 per cent and 80 per cent by 2050.
