KGHM Polska Miedz, the Polish mining company, has reached an agreement with the union to offer workers a 10 per cent pay rise from this month, the company said on Thursday.
After two rounds of negotiations with the union, the management's decision also provided employees with an one-time payment of 2000 zlotys ($489.49).
"KGHM employees are fairly paid for their solid work. In the past few years, there has been a big pay increase, and we share the profits with our employees." CEO Marcin Chludzinski said in a company statement.
KGHM Polska Miedz is one of the world's largest producers of copper and silver, with more than 18500 employees and an average total monthly salary of 13500 zlotys.
