After the conclusion of the sixth session of the 15th Shanghai Municipal people's Congress, the Shanghai municipal government held a press conference. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng met with reporters and answered media questions.

In response to a question about the development of new energy vehicles, Gong Zheng said that at present, vehicles are changing from simple vehicles to mobile intelligent terminal energy storage units and digital space, so new energy vehicles are also an important direction for the development of the automobile industry. Shanghai attaches great importance to this and is speeding up the development of new energy vehicles with global influence.

Shanghai's new energy vehicles have entered a new stage of rapid development. last year, the output value exceeded 160 billion yuan, an increase of 200 percent over the same period last year; the output reached 550000, an increase of 70 percent over the same period last year; and more than 670000 new energy vehicles were used in the city, of which more than 250000 were used last year, accounting for 43 percent of new car sales. Shanghai is also the city with the largest number of new energy vehicles in the country. it aims to produce more than 1.2 million new energy vehicles by 2025, with an output value of more than 350 billion yuan, and build a charging network to meet the charging needs of more than 1.25 million electric vehicles.

Gong Zheng said that in recent years, Shanghai has launched a number of support policies from both supply and demand, and will also introduce implementation suggestions in the near future, such as promoting infrastructure construction such as recharging and recharging. Many new energy vehicles are intelligent network-connected vehicles, and since the second half of last year, the problem of "lack of core" of intelligent network-connected vehicles is quite serious, so Shanghai is also stepping up efforts to lay out the production of specification-level chips to solve the problem of "lack of core" as soon as possible. In the next step, we will continue to co-ordinate the promotion of technological research and development standards, formulate and promote applied data security and infrastructure construction, and speed up the cultivation and development of new advantages on the new energy vehicle track.
