Chilean miner Antofagasta (LON: ANTO) expects that the annual copper output in 2022 will stand below last year's levels as the longest drought seen in decades in Chile continues to affect the operations.

SHANGHAI, Jan 20 - Chilean miner Antofagasta (LON: ANTO) expects that the annual copper output in 2022 will stand below last year's levels as the longest drought seen in decades in Chile continues to affect the operations. The company has already seen copper output fall by 1.7% to 721,500 mt in 2021, and is expected to produce 660,000-690,000 mt of copper in 2022 due to a low-grade mix at some mines and water shortages.
