CATL Introduces Its Battery Swap Services Provider EVOGO, Applicable to 80% of Global Pure EV Models

SHANGHAI, Jan 19 - CATL introduced its battery swap service brand EVOGO and the turnkey solution on January 18.

The “Choco-SEB” (swapping electric block) is a mass-produced battery specifically developed for battery sharing that features small size and high energy, free combination and minimalist design. Adopting the latest CTP technology owned by CATL, the "Choco-SEB" has a weight energy density of over 160Wh/kg and a volume energy density of over 325Wh/L. A single battery block can provide a range of around 200km and is applicable to 80% of the pure electric vehicle models already on the market worldwide, as well as those to be launched in the next three years.

In addition, the swappable electric block adopts wireless BMS technology and has only the high voltage positive and negative terminals, which significantly increases the reliability of the plugged-in components.

The quick swap station boasts four advantages, including small footprint, fast circulation, large capacity and all-weather applicable. Each standard station requires only three parking spaces, and it takes only one minute to swap one block. 48 swapping electric blocks will be stored in the station, ensuring that users have a fully charged block to replace at all times, without having to wait for a long time. The stations are also available in versions adapted to the climatic conditions of different regions.
