Zinc Social Inventories Up 3,100 mt Over Weekend

Total zinc inventories across seven Chinese markets stood at 126,200 mt as of January 17, up 3,100 mt from last Friday January 14, and down 600 mt from last Monday January 10.

SHANGHAI, Jan 17 (SMM)—Total zinc inventories across seven Chinese markets stood at 126,200 mt as of January 17, up 3,100 mt from last Friday January 14, and down 600 mt from last Monday January 10.

The domestic inventories rose as a whole over the weekend. The inventory in Shanghai rallied as the goods which was in transport before arrived at the market. Guangdong saw limited declines amid less arrivals and weakening downstream demand. The inventory in Tianjin rose more slowly as the smelters recued their shipments after the spot discounts expanded.

In general, the inventories in Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin rose 3,300 mt over the weekend, and that across the seven major market rose 3,100 mt.
