[SMM Zinc Weekly report selection: zinc ingot fundamentals are optimistic and zinc prices are expected to remain high next week] as for Shanghai zinc, continuing the changes in domestic fundamentals mentioned last week, let's continue to take a look at the current situation of smelters. Except for those enterprises that have stopped production due to environmental protection, there are production controls in smelters due to mine pressure, and at the same time, some smelters in Hunan have been overhauled beyond the usual time. China's refined zinc production reached 513300 tons in December and is expected to be 513400 tons in January, a sharp drop from previous expectations.

The following is an excerpt from the weekly report of the zinc industry chain:

With regard to Shanghai zinc, continuing the changes in domestic fundamentals mentioned last week, let's continue to take a look at the current situation of smelters. Except for those enterprises that have reduced production and stopped production due to environmental protection, there are currently production controls in smelters due to mine pressure. At the same time, some smelters in Hunan have been overhauled beyond the usual time. China's refined zinc output reached 513300 tons in December and is expected to be 513400 tons in January. Compared with the previous expectations, there has been a significant reduction. The result is that the inventory we have seen has not been accumulated for a long time, and we expect it to be about 17,000 to 30,000 tons in the next two weeks. The accumulated stock in the first quarter is expected to be about 10 to 130000 tons, that is to say, next year's inventory peak will be relatively low in recent years. If the consumer returns normally after the new year, then the speed of going to the library is also worth looking forward to. Therefore, on the whole, the current fundamentals of zinc are optimistic. It is expected that Shanghai zinc will run at 24200,25500 yuan / ton, and the domestic spot price of Shanghai zinc to 02 contract will rise by 100,000,170 yuan / ton.

Barksdale Closes C$13.18 Million Financing Tranche to Advance Planned 16,000-Metre Drilling Program at Sunnyside
Barksdale Resources Corp. announced the closing of the first tranche of its previously announced non-brokered private placement of up to C$14 million. The company issued 73,216,777 units at C$0.18 per unit, raising approximately C$13.18 million in gross proceeds. Net proceeds are intended to support a phased 16,000-metre diamond drilling program at the Sunnyside copper-zinc-lead-silver project in Arizona, United States, including an initial 8,000-metre campaign expected to begin later in fall 2026. Barksdale holds a 67.5% interest in Sunnyside. The planned drilling will follow up previous reverse-circulation results, with the objective of defining an initial Mineral Resource at the Sunnyside Porphyry Deposit. The program will also test areas near the historical Sunnyside, Volcano and Thunder mines. A ZTEM geophysical survey is planned across Sunnyside and the Four Metals property. The second financing tranche is expected to close in mid-October, while the offering and debt settlement remain subject to final TSX Venture Exchange acceptance.

Alaska Silver Completes 9,496-Metre Drilling Program at Illinois Creek, with Waterpump Creek Zinc-Lead Assays Pending
Alaska Silver Corp. announced completion of its 2026 drilling program at the Illinois Creek Project in western Alaska, United States. A total of 9,495.90 metres was drilled, exceeding the expanded 9,000-metre target. Approximately 5,022 metres were completed at Silver Sage and 4,473 metres at Waterpump Creek. The company sampled 39 drill holes during the program, comprising 27 holes at Silver Sage and 12 at Waterpump Creek. Core logging, cutting and sampling were completed on September 12, with the final shipment dispatched on September 23. Waterpump Creek hosts previously reported zinc-lead-silver mineral resources, with the existing Inferred Resource Estimate grading 11.28% zinc and 9.87% lead. The 2026 program generated 6,753 drill-core samples weighing approximately 24.8 tonnes, which have been submitted to ALS Global for preparation and analysis. Assay results from the new drilling remain pending. Separately, the company collected an approximately one-tonne bulk sample from the historical Illinois Creek mine area for metallurgical testing focused on gold, silver and copper recovery.
