According to customs data, China's aluminium foil exports stood at 114,700 mt in November 2021, up 13% YoY and 2% MoM. The five tariff numbers in November did not change significantly on the month. Only 76071190 exports decreased by 4,600 tons, while the increase in exports of 76071110, 76071900 and 76072000 were all over 2,000 mt, which drove the total exports of aluminium foil.

SHANGHAI, Dec 31 (SMM) - According to customs data, China's aluminium foil exports stood at 114,700 mt in November 2021, up 13% YoY and 2% MoM. The five tariff numbers in November did not change significantly on the month. Only 76071190 exports decreased by 4,600 tons, while the increase in exports of 76071110, 76071900 and 76072000 were all over 2,000 mt, which drove the total exports of aluminium foil.

Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Henan, Shandong and other traditional aluminium foil exporting provinces still ranked top in November. The exports of the above five provinces are more than 10,000 mt, with over 10% of the export proportion. The total exports of the five provinces account for up to 79%.

China exported 12,500 mt and 10,700 mt of aluminium foil to Thailand and India in November. The demand for aluminium foil in India has gradually returned to normal levels. South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia have also been ranked high, but their imports is far less than that of Thailand and India. Except for Luxembourg, China exported 9,100 mt of aluminium foil to the remaining 26 countries of EU, taking up 7.91% of the total aluminium foil exports in November. Since May, the exports and proportion of aluminium foil to the EU have stabilised.

In December, the EU again imposed anti-dumping duties on some aluminium foils from China. The current supply of aluminium foil in the global market is in short supply and the leading companies such as Nanshan, Zhongji, and Xiashun, which are greatly affected by EU anti-dumping measures, can transfer their business to other markets. The exports of aluminium foil to the EU continued to decline due to anti-dumping measures, but China's total aluminium foil exports did not shrink significantly, which can also prove that the EU market has limited impact on China's overall aluminium foil exports. Therefore, the exports of aluminium foil to the EU are expected to further shrink, but the national aluminium foil exports can still maintain a high level.
