At the beginning of last year, the price of PVDF was about 70, 000 yuan per ton. market data show that the latest price of lithium battery-grade PVDF has reached a high of 445000 yuan / ton. On the one hand, the price is skyrocketing, on the other hand, the demand for PVDF for power batteries in the future will remain high. In this context, the head of enterprises have also carried out PVDF capacity expansion layout.
On December 28th, Putai announced that in order to further meet the continuous product demand of downstream lithium-ion battery customers, promote the capacity construction of Ruyuan East Sunshine Fluororesin Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "East Sunshine Fluororesin") as soon as possible, speed up the PVDF capacity layout, and build a perfect supply chain system of coating materials and binders, the company plans to further expand capacity construction planning on the basis of the original plan. It is proposed to build a new project of 20, 000 tons / year PVDF and 45000 tons / year R142b through Dongguang fluororesin, with a total investment of about 1.4 billion yuan.
According to Battery China, in May this year, Pu Tai Lai issued an announcement to promote the business development and industrial planning of Dongguang Fluororesin and to ensure that Dongguang Fluororesin launched 10, 000 tons / year PVDF and 27000 tons / year R142b projects.
As can be seen from the comparison, based on the forecast of market demand, Pu Tai Lai doubled its originally planned PVDF capacity to 20, 000 tons per year, as well as the R142b project of Synchronize (R142b is the main raw material for PVDF).
According to the plan, the project will be divided into two phases: the first phase of the 10,000-ton / year PVDF and 18000-ton / year R142b project, with a construction period of two years, which is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 2023; and the second phase of the 10,000-ton / year PVDF and 27000-ton / year R142b project, which is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 2024.
Up to now, Dongyang light fluorine resin has a production capacity of 5000 tons of PVDF. If the 20, 000 tons of PVDF capacity is put into production as scheduled, the total production capacity of Dongyang Guangfu PVDF will climb to 25000 tons, and the production capacity will be in the forefront of the domestic PVDF industry.
It is understood that based on the large-scale expansion of power batteries to drive the demand for raw materials, the relevant PVDF enterprises have carried out the layout of capacity expansion this year. Recently, Dongyue Group announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its subsidiary Shandong Huaxia Shenzhou New Materials Co., Ltd. has recently obtained full approval procedures for the new 10, 000-ton / year PVDF project, which is expected to be completed and put into production in October 2022. After the completion of the project, it can form a production scale of 10, 000 tons / year of PVDF for power lithium-ion batteries, and the group can form a production scale of 25000 tons / year of PVDF resin.
