Samsung Electronics sent a letter to customers today to inform customers that it is expected that the manufacturing capacity of NAND products may be affected by the Xi'an epidemic and temporarily suspend quotations, and the market atmosphere of rising NAND prices continues to brew, according to the Financial Associated Press.

Samsung announced this morning that it will temporarily adjust the operation of its Xi'an plant in China due to the epidemic to protect the safety of employees as much as possible. In the future, all necessary measures will be taken, including the use of their own global manufacturing network, to ensure that customers are not affected by this adjustment.

At present, Samsung's layout in Xi'an is mainly NAND Flash, with a monthly production capacity of about 120000 pieces in the first phase and about 130000 pieces in the second phase, accounting for 42.3% of the company's NAND Flash production capacity and 15.3% of the global production capacity. In addition, Samsung continues to expand in Xi'an, with the goal of establishing a 96-story V-NAND production base in China, but the progress has been delayed by the epidemic.

The industry pointed out that the recent spot price of NAND fluctuated slightly, but the decline has slowed down, and the price correction period is significantly shorter than in the past. The suspension of operation of the Samsung Xi'an factory will affect the price trend of NAND Flash and help the price to rise.
