China Electric Power Construction officially entered the market to carry out the construction of salt lake development and construction. The two projects started this time are Argentina Lithium potassium Co., Ltd. annual production capacity of 50, 000 tons of lithium carbonate salt lake lithium extraction project and the joint operation of the UT project to expand the annual production capacity of 5000 tons of lithium carbonate.

China Electric Power Construction officially entered the market to carry out the construction operation of salt lake development and construction. The two projects started this time are Argentina Lithium potassium Co., Ltd. annual production capacity of 50, 000 tons of lithium carbonate salt lake lithium extraction project and the joint operation of the UT project to expand the annual production capacity of 5000 tons of lithium carbonate.

At the end of 2020, the company completed its indirect control of the Argentine lithium potassium company through equity acquisition. Since then, the company has actively carried out the preparatory work for the commissioning of various lithium salt lake projects, and ushered in a number of breakthroughs in 2021, and finally determined the process route for the preparation of lithium carbonate by adsorption and membrane extraction of lithium ion from brine. The project ranks in the forefront of relevant projects in Argentina in terms of brine quality and planned production capacity, with a total investment of nearly 4 billion yuan. It will be the first project for the industrial application of the new technology of extracting lithium from salt lakes in South America and Argentina, and it is also the largest new production capacity in Salta Province of Argentina in the past two years. Judging from the long-term industry demand trend, after the completion of the Angeles lithium salt lake project and put into production, it will become the company's new main business and contribute profits for the company.

At the 14th China-Latin American Entrepreneur Summit held in Chongqing in November this year, the company signed an investment agreement of about 1.7 billion US dollars with Salta Province of Argentina, further clarifying the specific stage objectives, development direction and total investment of the company's lithium salt lake mining project. The government of Salta province in Argentina has also confirmed the assistance and convenience that will be provided to the company in the project development process.

With the start of the Angeles Lithium Lake project, the company has made important progress in its "one body and two wings" development strategy, which has been planned for many years. At the same time, the start of the project will officially open a new chapter in Sino-Arab cooperation. On the one hand, it will promote a series of industries such as China's advanced technology and the export of complete sets of equipment; on the other hand, it will also help the upgrading of Argentina's local mining industry, contribute considerable local tax revenue, and play an important role in promoting employment and stabilizing people's livelihood; at the same time, it will also contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between China and Argentina in the economic, technological and other fields.

Segundo a Red Metal Resources, em 3 de setembro, o projeto Farellon, parte da propriedade de cobre-ouro-cobalto Carrizal da empresa, perto de Vallenar, no Chile, concluiu sua primeira entrega de minério de sulfeto de cobre, marcando a transição do projeto da fase de desenvolvimento para a venda efetiva de minério e produção em pequena escala. A arrendatária e operadora do projeto, Minera KMT, transportou o primeiro lote de minério para a unidade de processamento de Vallenar, operada pela estatal chilena de mineração ENAMI, nos dias 20 e 21 de agosto. O marco ocorreu apenas cerca de três meses após as partes assinarem um acordo de mineração em maio, cerca de quatro meses antes do cronograma original de desenvolvimento de sete meses. Farellon é uma parte importante da propriedade de cobre-ouro-cobalto Carrizal. Espera-se que a primeira entrega de minério gere receita de royalties para a Red Metal e estabeleça as bases para uma maior expansão das atividades de mineração e processamento. A empresa ainda não divulgou o teor específico de cobalto, a produção de cobalto ou a taxa de recuperação do minério entregue.
