According to relevant reports, affected by rising energy prices in Europe, Voerde and Hamburg smelters of Trimet Aluminium, an European primary aluminum producer, have also announced capacity reductions following Montenegro's KAP. It is reported that due to the high spot raw materials and energy prices of the two smelters, as well as the large increase in electricity prices in Germany, both smelters are currently unprofitable. The reduction accounts for about 30% of the annual capacity of the two smelters. The annual production capacity of Voerde is 95000 tons and that of Hamburg is 130000 tons. It is expected that the capacity of the two smelters will be reduced by about 70, 000 tons per year. So far, the Essen smelter, which is also located in Europe, has not disclosed the expected production reduction. The Essen smelter has an annual capacity of 165000 tons.
