On December 21, Daquan Energy announced that it signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between the people's Government of Baotou City and Xinjiang Daquan New Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement) with the people's Government of Baotou City on December 18. The company plans to invest 300,000 tons / year high purity industrial silicon project, 200,000 tons / year organic silicon project, 200000 tons / year high purity polysilicon project and 21,000 tons / year semiconductor polysilicon project in Baotou. The total investment of the project is expected to be 33.25 billion yuan. Among them, the total investment of 200,000 tons / year high purity polysilicon project and 21,000 tons / year semiconductor polysilicon project is expected to be 24.25 billion yuan, and the total investment of 300,000 tons / year high purity industrial silicon and 200,000 tons / year organosilicon project is expected to be 9 billion yuan. The project is divided into two phases, of which the first phase (100,000 tons / year high purity polysilicon + 1000 tons / year semiconductor polysilicon) is expected to have a total investment of 8.55 billion yuan and is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2022 and be completed and put into production in the second quarter of 2023. The second phase of the project will be promoted according to the market demand.

Since 2021, the demand for photovoltaic installation has increased rapidly, the photovoltaic industry continues to be hot, silicon supply exceeds demand, and Daquan energy production and sales are booming. In the first three quarters, the company achieved a cumulative operating income of 8.305 billion yuan, an increase of 177.16% over the same period last year, and a net profit of 4.473 billion yuan, an increase of 799.73% over the same period last year. For the whole year of 2021, the company's polysilicon production is expected to be 8.3-85000 tons, with polysilicon production of 63000 tons and sales of 63700 tons respectively in the first three quarters, and the company's 35000-ton polysilicon project was put into operation on December 6th and will reach production by the end of the first quarter of next year. Will still maintain a leading position in the industry.

In addition, Daquan Energy has previously said that according to the company's planned medium-term development goals, the company will maintain an average annual capacity growth rate of about 50 per cent over the next three years, and plans to achieve a total capacity of 270000 tons per year of high-purity silicon by the end of 2024. In addition, the 1000-ton semiconductor project raised by the company is under active planning. Benefiting from the policy support, the downstream silicon wafer industry is also in the process of capacity expansion and the growth rate is higher than that of silicon material, the silicon material link will still be the least productive link in the photovoltaic manufacturing industry chain, and the shortage of silicon material supply will continue.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
